Indie Movie: June 2nd. Brooklyn to Baltimore

After a tearful good bye in the rain on Tuesday, I picked up Erika and we started South to Baltimore. Loretta adjusted to the interstate well and pretty soon we were in the dregs of New Jersey but well on our way. Once in Baltimore, Loretta struggled to know what gear to be in to get up the hills, but we managed and arrived at Justin's house with just enough time to get a tour. He lives in a great old home, 3 stories, 3 stair cases, just enough of the old and new with lots of art work and bikes everywhere.... dubbed "the castle". Here is Justin explaining how he makes his own kombucha.
We also hit up the Visionary Art Museum , one of my all time favorites. They showcase outsider art, crafts, and overall awesomeness. Erika and I both loved the entries into the Kinetic Race and plan to make a go next year!! I also really loved Gerald Hawkes sculptures out of match sticks and Dalton Ghetti's pencil graphite carvings. Lastly, check out this giant "bra ball" by Emily Duffy also at the museum.
We finished the evening with super yummy thai food and headed to bed on the 3rd floor of "the castle" with two of the cutest cats you have ever seen.

Thanks Justin, his kind roommates, and Baltimore for a great first stop!!!
